Your question was: Why am I losing so little weight with Nutrisystem?.
As Aunt Thelma says, Nutrisystem is set up so that you will loose 1 to 2 pounds per week. You are right on target. With "relatively" few pounds to loose you should not expect to see the larger gains some people experience right at first. That usually happens when there is either a lot of weight that needs to be lost or if the person had been really dehydrated when they started the program. Also, women are going to loose slower than men do. You can't compare your results to those the men get.
If you work the program you will get to watch your weight steadily decrease. Be sure you are reading and working your way through the Mindset Makeover. This is going to help you redefine your relationship with food (and exercise) into something that will support your weight loss and eventual maintenance.
One of the strengths of this program is that it teaches you to make lifelong lifestyle changes so that you will loose the weight and maintain the loss. Use the time while you are loosing the weight to learn what these need to be for you and to develop them into the healthy habits you need for them to become.
Wishing you much success with your weight loss journey...
Arlene, I so agree with what TZ and auntthelma said..
And personally I've had weeks where I expected big losses and it didn't happen and weeks when I thought I'd probably stay the same or gain and lost big time..
I'm just realizing for me, that if I just keep working the program and moving more than I used too I will lose weight. It might average 1 lb a week at times less. And then I hit a month where I lose 10 to 12 lbs..
Either way, my clothes continue to fit better or need to be replaced because they are way too big.
Don't give up on this......... Know you are making the right choices..
There are people who would kill to have that great of results! The plan is working perfectly for you! Just keep doing what you are doing.....
Ditto to what's been said. Your results are great!.
It might also be helpful to keep in mind that to lose one pound, you have to create a calorie deficit of 3500 calories. Also keep in mind that your loss will vary, that your weight fluctuates daily because of the food in your body, water intake, hormones, etc., and that it sometimes takes time for the scale to catch up with your efforts...
Hi there. You are right on track. Did you measure yourself before ns? Sometimes you are losing inches instead of the pounds. As long as you know you are on staying on plan it's going to come off one way or another. Don't stress about how much you haven't lost but think positive about how much you have lost. If you weren't on Nutrisystem would you have lost those 11 pounds? You're doing great, Keep up the good work. You can do it, Nancy..
