First of all Which dishes taste best on the Medifast plan? Hoping for any comment. Another question... Started Medifast in Jan. Have lost 40 lbs. But I have barely lost a half pound a week for over 3 weeks! I am tired, cold and wonder if my body is in conservation mode. I do not know how to shake this and am very discouraged.

Have any of you had a similar stall and how long did it last?..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..

I helped me alot to reduce my daily carbs below 85. That helped with the hunger too. Good luck!!..

Have you a health coach? Mine helped me a lot when I was stuck....

IF not, get one....

Good thing is, you are still loosing, not gaining....

Have you been slacking on anything... what about water?.

Did you start something new, ie coffee creamer in your coffee?.

Have you increased your exercise.... sometimes that will put your body into conservation mode..

Have you tried doing any of the support calls... call in on the nurses, or nutrition or dr support line and ask for suggestions and advice.....

Is your overall health improving?.

Are you loosing in size but not in lbs?.

Is it near your TOM?..

Have you changed your routine at all? It could be just one slight change that makes all the difference. I'm not sure if you log all of your food, but that was a tremendous help to me. I was able to pinpoint things that were slowing me down - carb count was too high, too much artificial sweeteners, higher sodium intake, etc. I also found that when I slacked off on drinking water, I slowed down as well. I would go through your routine top to bottom to see if there's something inadvertently slowing you down. One tweak may be all you need to get those fat burning engines into high gear again. Good luck!..

I also read if you hit a plateau, try just a shake day. Something to consider...

If you call NS, they have a plan to help break a plataue, if it is truly one, and they will be able to tell you if it is......

Other than that... all I can say I keep pushing ahead...

I am going through the same exact exact thing. I lost 35 pounds in the first 2 months. then suddenly bam.. almost nothing. it took me 2 and a half weeks to lose 2 pounds.

Its pretty discouraging considering the amount the money that you pay monthly to stay on plan..

This next week I plan on doing nothing but shakes..completely skipping the lean and greenjust the 490 calories a day. hopefully this works cause nothing else seems to be helping. a bit radical I know but I have tried everything else I could think of..

Have you tried not working out for a week? that helps some people. are you drinking all your water? sometimes diet soda's can cause stalls as well. also you should have your thyroid checked. Fatigue, chills, and slow weight loss are all symptoms of a hyperactive or slow thyroid..

Woah-this is a really, really bad idea. 490 calories will bring your body into a grinding stop and go into starvation mode and you will not lose weight. Many people's bodies do not lose weight at an even pace and sometimes the weight loss will slow down because the body is adjusting, but the weight loss will start up again...

The weight you'll lose if you only do MF/490 calories will be lean muscle mass instead of fat..

Better instead to cut out all the optional items: condiments and the snacks. Nothing to drink but water. Eat the leanest lean and the lowest carb veggies (usually the raw leafy greens) with your two healthy fats keeping you around 800-850 calories. You can't get more bare bones than that without harming your body, and you'll know you are 100% on plan and will simply have to lose weight. This will help you figure out what was your trouble spot to begin with because if you try to add it back in, your results will show the problem..

You may just have to accept that 0.5-1.0 a week is a good week and just plug away until you meet your goal..

If you are LOSING it is NOT a stall or a plateau..

Just remember that it's still faster than any other program that also keeps you healthy and has a clear program for transitioning out of Medifast and into whole foods...

Up your water, cycle carbs/calories by doing higher levels a few days, lower for the next few days, and most of all, don't stress over it, as stress makes things worse,,,,,and also, get plenty of sleep. You are doing fine,,,,just a little bump in the road and you will soon be rolling smoothly again...

You will seriously lose muscle doing this. Very bad idea and it will most certainly put you in starvation mode where your metabolism will slow to almost nothing. Any weight lost in this range will be muscle and not fat. Please do not do this it is NOT safe!..

This would be fine if you did it only for one day, but I wouldn't recommend the whole week as the calories would be to low. One suggestion is to vary during the week and have 2 lean and greens maybe two days out the week and then do a five and one. The variety in calories will confuse your body and should kick it back into gear. If you try this I highly recommend that you log in your food prior to eating that day so that you stay within the carb intake. As long as your under the 100 you will be fine. I use to do this weekly and I lost weight quickly every week. Hope this helps...

This sounds like a pretty bad idea to me...

Thanks, Everyone! I will go over my food intake with a fine tooth comb. I really think I do need to have my thyroid checked as it could be low. I am on meds for this but starting Medifast could have changed things. I needed the support and hopefully I will break through this. I will keep you posted...

Stop right there LOL. Not a good idea! You can do 5 shakes for your Medifast meals and make sure you have your LG too!! You will still LOSE weight....its going to be rough some weeks but hang in there!..

Yeah I had my checked recently and well my meds got bumped up some....
