That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..
That is the worst - one of my guys came back last week with steak and cheese and french fries ( I work in a farily small office) The whole place smelled like french fries - It was sheer torture!!!..
I work at a big accounting firm and it's busy season. So the accountants sometimes get breakfast and usually have lots of candy and snacks and stuff. Not to mention all the donuts and lunch food left over in the lunch areas. Its like a mine field!..
This may sound super hokey but something that has helped me when I'm near someone who is eating something I would *love* to have but can't - I imagine exactly what that food tastes like (I have lots of vivid memories to draw from, lol!) I really focus on it. Then, once I remember what it specifically tastes like, for some reason I get over wanting to actually eat it..
I don't know why this works but for me it does. It could be that once I remember so vividly what that particular food tastes like it's as if I've eaten it too and am satisfied...? Or maybe it's just that I remember it wasn't really all that great anyway and I can live without it. Who knows - but whatever works....!..
Just visualize his food covered in worms, wraping themselves around the gooey fried meat, as he slowly lifts his fork and puts it in his mouth EEWWWWWWW! Now go have some water girl..
I feel you, Chinese is one of the cuisines that I miss and haven't really been able to adapt to the 5&1. Luckily, I have found on plan ways to enjoy Greek, Viet Namese and even Mexican. Hmmmmm, I'll have to work on the Chinese conundrum!..
Have you tried the cauliflower "fried rice"? It's become one of my favorites over the past month. I also do stir-fries or foil packet cooking with a mix of soy sauce/ginger/garlic for flavoring. Mung bean sprouts are a pretty good stand in for rice or noodles in Asian cuisines, at least good enough for me at this point!..
It always helps me to remember that I have a choice in the matter. It's not that I can't have the food but I choose not to eat it...
The cauliflower fried "rice" is indeed a nice substitute for traditional Chinese fried rice. You could serve it to company and they wouldn't know! There's a nice recipe for Orange Chicken think it's posted on the Medifast Facebook page under the Discussions tab, and it works really well with fish, too. It has become a family favorite!..
LMAO!! Im sorry but I feel your pain haha...I have FOOD AND YUMMY FOOD AT THAT LOL by me all DAY LONG while at work....and today imm CRAVING it bad...haha......
Yes it sucks....but those BAD foods always be around when we get done!!..
I just fried up ten pounds of chicken cutlets, my fav, for my daughterd birthday dinner. Talk about torture! Plus now the house will smell all day. Aarrggg!..
I am now going to PF Changs with my boss tomorrow for work. Yay. I am going to get steamed broccoli and steamed Chicken with ginger and a little soy sauce. So I will get my fix...
I get tortured all the time at the smell of chinese, pizza, donuts, cookies, etc at work. I just sit at my desk and think that being a normal weight is a million times better than any piece of food that goes in my mouth...
I am surrounded by fornography (food pornography). I stay in my cube just keep focusing on how well I fit my chair......
Glenn, you hit the nail on the head! Fornography is spot on!!! That's what we face every day, and we have to avoid it!!!..
Wow, you guys are making me glad I'm unemployed, LOL! However, the dang food court at the mall gets me every time. But then I remind myself that the last time I ate at a food court I got violently ill and I get over it, hehe... Trust me - cold pasta from Sbarro is *not* a good choice, LOL!..
