It isn't one of my favorites, but I usually add a little salsa and some Italian seasoning mix to it to spice it up..
Search for the "bread" recipes for an alternative to making it into a soup. Good luck!..
Here's my recipe using the tomato soup to make Pizza Bread! It's delicious!.
Pizza Bread 2 rounds are one meal..
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and spray a baking sheet with Pam or other spray oil..
1 package Medifast Tomato Soup.
3/4 t. Lawrys Dry Spaghetti Sauce Spice and Seasoning Mix (comes in a packet, found in spaghetti sauce aisle in my local grocery store. 3/4 tsp is 5 calories/1 gm carbs).
3/4 t. Splenda powder (if you like a sweeter pizza sauce flavor).
1/2 t. baking powder.
1/8 t. dried oregano.
1/8 t. dried basil.
1 T. ground flax meal.
2 T. egg beaters.
3 T. water.
Mix all dry ingredients together in a small bowl. Mix water and egg beaters together separately and then add to the dry ingredients, blend well. Divide mixture into two rounds on the baking sheet. Bake for 5-6 minutes. Turn oven to low broil and brown the top. Watch VERY CAREFULLY to make sure it doesn't burn, takes about 3 minutes or so.
I place 1 ounce fat-free or low fat mozzarella cheese and made a sandwich, very yummy. Can also spread one triangle of Low Fat Laughing Cow Cheese on one half and then make a sandwich. When I use the cheese I deduct from my Lean.
Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!..
The tomato soup is my favorite. It's better cooked on the stove vs. the microwave. I add Ms. Dash Garlic and Basil and add some more basil and fresh tomato as well...
Thanks for all the ideas - the pizza bread sounds really novel and definately worth a try! Hope everyone enjoys the long week-end!..
