Medifast recipe for Crab fettichini?

I wanted to share this in case someone would love it as much as I do. Before Medifast I would always make a yummy crab fettichini and I was so disappointed when I knew I couldn't eat it for a long time while on MF. As a matter of fact it was my last meal that I cooked before starting MF. Anyway here it is....

I sautee peppers in a pan with a little "I can't believe it's not butter" until soft. Then add 6 oz. of crab meat and saute, then I add 1 oz. of F/F cheese with a little skim milk (which you are allowed 1 cup per day) so the cheese does not clump. I stir until it is all melted and gooey. And that's it.

Try this with Shirataki Fettuchini. I think this would be great! Watch the cheese and milk though as it has carbs. You probably don't want to add other condiments or a bar on days that you are eating this.

We aren't allowed 1 cup of fat free milk per day. 2 tbsp equals 1 condiment or 1/2 a cup equals 1 Medifast meal (if necessary). You could still make this using the milk as your condiment - but I just didn't want you to think you could have a cup of milk all the time. Try doing half a serving of peppers and half a serving of shirataki noodles..

I think I'll try this with shrimp instead of crab (since I have some in my freezer ) with some shirataki angel hair and maybe broccoli instead of peppers (since I don't like peppers).

Ooh! actually, one question: What kind of cheese did you use? I know that I prefer cheddar in macaroni & cheese (which I should so try to make with cut up shirataki noodles maybe?) but I'm not sure if that's appropriate for this?.

I was looking at the new food guide and I couldn't find where it says we are allowed up to one cup a day of skim milk. Is this one of the recent changes to the plan? I would so love it if I could have a cup of milk...

I make something like this with chicken (although no everyone said, that's a no no). I use spaghetti squash, it counts as my green and is not a bad substitute for the fettucine. I hear the noodles are good also, I just don't have them and like the squash just as well. If you've never tried spaghetti squash, it actually comes out in strings and looks like spaghetti so you feel like you're eating the real thing...

Hey guys I did talk someone at Medifast awhile back and they said we are allowed 1 cup of SKIM milk per day, I hope she knew what she was talking about lol. Regardless I DON'T use a whole cup in this recipe, just a little so the cheese doesn't clump up. Since I have started Medifast which was 2 months ago I have had a cup of skim milk at least 3 times a week if not more and I have lost 46 as far as I'm concerned it has not hurt. But to each their own. And I will have to try this with the Shirataki Fettuchini. Thanks..

Oh and one more thing, Medifast said we can have F/F cheese but only if you do it right...Instead of 7 oz. of crab, chicken, etc. have 6 oz. and 1 oz. of f/f cheese OR instead of 5 oz. of beef have 4 oz.

Of f/f cheese. So this really can be completely legal if you don't go over board...

Spaghetti squash isn't allowed on plan either. It's too high carb. Try summer squash instead...

I made alfredo last night for dinner (not your recipe) and it was amazing. I didn't use milk though. I think because I was cooking frozen shrimp and frozen broccoli and the ice melted and there was a little water in the pan, that worked fine. my cheese didn't clump. so maybe try adding water instead of milk?..

Spaghetti squash is in the quick start guide as acceptable. On the higherside, but if you can spare them for the day then I say go for it...

Okay, now Spaghetti Squash is on the new list under highest carbs... so it is allowed, but I guess one of those things you have to watch... don't have a bar, etc....

I just printed all the new stuff so I can study again. A bit frustrating as I am only on day 18 anyway, but I think it is more clear anyway!..

To answer the milk question... with the newer guidelines regarding milk products, it does state that we can have 1/2 cup whole milk to meet a fat requirement (with a leaner or leanest meat choice in L&G), but I sure wouldn't make a habit of it. Lot of carbs.

The spaghetti squash is clearly legal, but as pointed out a higher carb choice so adjust accoringly..

I used a mix of shredded mozzarella and shredded cheddar and then also some grated pecorino romano and parmesan...
